MASTERSHREDDER I bought this when it was EventBox.. I figured I would give the developer some cash because the idea of the program seemed pretty cool... then the bugs came.. They would update it, and fix a few things, but then there would be way more bugs. I've increasingly become annoyed with the product.. then I see they sold it and now it's called Socialite... great. Socialite is even worse than EventBox bugwise and now I really wish I hadn't wasted the money. I've stopped using it and now i'm looking around for a replacement. I'll be less careless with my app purchases though. (Version 1.0)

MJHARPER Hmm. Curious Realmac Software specifically warned about being beta and bleeding edge, and suggested that if you didn't want bugs you shouldn't upgrade yet. Try reading the release notes before whining. http://www.realmacsoftware.com/forums/index.php/forums/viewthread/25838/ (Version 1.0)

APPLEHC The application is a joke. First I got my "MacHeist" version. It crashed so often I could not use it. Now, after reading some of these (fake) reviews I gave it another shot Well, licence expired. Had to buy it and guess what: It is *constsntly* crashing on Google Reader. This must be the worst investment in shareware I ever made. Twice. Beware, if you want to use the RSS part of this product! It is not ready for prime time. A long time after they openend up their "beta".. (Version 1.0)

MJHARPER Just because someone is not having the same problems you are doesn't mean their review is fake. (Version 1.0)

MATTHEWLOWERY It is my favourite app on my entire macbook. It’s so good! All my networks on one app! Then I can read my Mashable and Wired RSS’s too! The Twitter part is very well done. The Twitter HUD alone has more features than Twitterrific! Facebook is pretty basic, but I would appreciate a way to see comments and comment on the posts, photos etc. Flickr too is very well done. Digg is well done ( I don’t let Digg change my Unread count otherwise it would be 200+ lol) OneRiot is one of my favourites, it updates itself and tells you when somebody uses that tag! I don’t use the others, but I tried Reddit and that too is good. The Cosmic Machine have made a brilliant product. I want to see a V 2.0 before they begin work on an iPhone app. Give them time to get their desktop app to get a fanbase, get good features and come out of beta. Allinall, an f-in brilliant app! VRH This integrates all my newsfeed gathering and social networking into one very friendly interface. This is precisely the solution for which I've been searching! I've been running the pre-release version of EventBox which has been very stable for me and the developers are very responsive. This is a great deal. Things I'd like to see in the future: further flexibility in keyboard commands (already a pretty good job here), some adjustment in 'focus' behaviour, and a way to adjust tolerance for overloaded Twitter servers. ;-) Speaking of Twitter, the 'Smart Folder' feature for Twitter is a wonderful idea -- a big help! Again, in my opinion this app is solid and a great value. (Version 1.0)

MEMPHISBIRD Yes, having all the services integrated is extremely convenient, and the smart folders feature has become a necessity. I also own Tweetie, but I don't use it because I can't filter my tweets like I can in EventBox. The two things I would really like to see are: 1) add an option to the smart folders to show which items are unread. Right now, there is a default smart folder for unread items, but it includes everything. I would like to have an unread option for each service; 2) option to have items that have been read disappear from view, archived or something, so that they don't show up anymore. (Version 1.0)

THEBRIX2008 I use only part of the functionality (RSS, Google Reader, Twitter). That said ... EventBox is the only OS X feed reader I have found that synchronises with Google Reader - perfectly, as it turns out - and it is elegantly done. There are lots of subtle but meaningful graphic effects, hotkeys for everything, and many alert options - sound, Growl, a well-designed heads-up (white on black) display, highlights in the Dock, a Menu Bar item ... most of which can be set for all feeds or per-feed. My only reservation is that the application doesn't have its own browser; the Web pages linked to feeds open in the default Web browser. It would be nice to have some sort of embedded interface as a space-saver on a laptop screen. I will not be going back to Web interfaces; EventBox is faster, better-looking, easier to use and more tweakable, and $15 is not much for what it offers. (Version 1.0r580)

SHANE C SMITH This is the only application I have found so far that does everything I want from one app. I do wish they would add more features to each section of the application. For example, comment on statues message for Facebook, notifications for pictures in Facebook are not by album but by photo, etc. Also there are a number of bugs that I wish would be fixed, but I guess it is a beta version. Maybe they will be all fixed when the final comes out. Overall it is my client of choice (Version 1.0r572)
